I have not been active on my blog recently because I was busy during my vacation for two months and I did not have the time to post. After returning to Bangkok, my house was being renovated for a month and the renovation will continue for another month. So I may not be active for a while... and finally, after all the busy work, I am back on my blog with my mini tulips.

This Cutie Doll is made by my younger daughter Nidharshini. Nidharshini is having very good artistic skills, so creative and a passion for arts . I am always amazed at her photographic memory and her novel ideas while drawing .

Remembering my childhood days : The Doll Kutty
Paavadai Chattai (full skirt and blouse) is one of the traditional South Indian dress for girls.
When I was young, I wore those kind of clothes and everybody used to call me Kutty (Now you know my secret of why I named her Kutty). During that time, we didn't have a fridge at my house. We used to keep fresh water (no mineral water or boiled water) in terracotta pots to make it cool during peak summer. Making this beautiful doll reminded me of my childhood. It was really memorable; the 2 plaited hair with ribbon,beaded necklace, matching bangles , flowers....

Being a clay flower artist, I am running out of space in my house to keep all my works so I have decided to make more miniatures to display it inside a frame (also to avoid dust) that can be hung on the wall of my house and to show them to my students and friends. This flower, Strelitzia is native to South Africa and is more commonly known as The crane flower or The bird of paradise, which got its name from its features being similar to the bird of paradise.
